California Redwoods

In July 2026, I set out to visit three very specific spots in the California redwoods. Three places my grandma, Banna had been 70+ years ago. In 1952(ish) with her best friend Jean, Banna took photos of the Chandelier Drive-Thru tree, The World Famous Tree House, and the Founder’s Tree. With my five-year-old daughter as passenger, I (re)visited these special pieces of California history.

“Geo” in the tree – 1952(ish)

“Raven” in the tree – 2026

The World Famous Tree House, has been a tourist attraction since the early-mid 1920’s. Closed, then temporarily re-opened, then closed again. We will be keeping our eyes on this property and will visit again if it’s ever re-opened.
